UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -

After two rounds of play at the Nittany Lion Invitational, host Penn State sits in a tie for second place. The Nittany Lions have a two-round total of 23-over-par 599 (305-294) on the par-72, 6,229-yard Penn State Blue Course. The second-round score of 294 was the third-best 18-hole score in school history and the top second-round score of any team in the tournament. The two-round total of 599 marked the fourth-best 36-hole score in school history.

Freshman Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ont.) and sophomore Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) are tied for eighth place after putting together two-round scores of 149. Vosters' score of 72 in the second round was a new career-best. She posted her previous career-best of 73 at the 2010 Nittany Lion Invitational.

Sophomore Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) followed one stroke behind Elliott and Vosters is currently in a tie for 11th place with a score of 150. She carded an even-par 72 in the second round, which was a new career-best. Freshman Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que.) notched a two-round score of 151 (76-75) and is tied for 15th place. Junior Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) rounded out Penn State's starters, finishing the second round in a tie for 42nd place with a score of 158 (78-80).

Eastern Michigan moved into first place and currently holds a two-round score of a 21-over-par 597 (300-297). Longwood's Ariel Witmer stayed on top, as she notched a 2-over-par in the second round. She has a two-round score of 144.

The final round of play will commence Sunday (Oct. 2) with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
