UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State field hockey team (12-5, 3-2) will close out the 2011 regular season on Sunday at noon as it hosts the Michigan State Spartans in a Big Ten clash. The Nittany Lions will be looking to possibly earn a Big Ten Regular Season title with a win. The game will be broadcasted for tape delay on the Big Ten Network.

Penn State will sport pink uniforms on Sunday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive a pink breast cancer awareness t-shirt.

Penn State snapped its two-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Bucknell Bison on Tuesday night about an hour away in Lewisburg. Sophomore Whitney Reddig (Lititz, Pa.), redshirt junior Hannah Allison (Mifflinburg, Pa.) and freshman Laura Gebhart (Mount Joy, Pa.) each scored goals for the Nittany Lions. Junior Kelsey Amy (Sweet Valley, Pa.) also earned an assist, while redshirt junior Ayla Halus (Hershey, Pa.) made two saves and allowed no goals.

Michigan State heads to Happy Valley with a 7-10 overall record and a 1-4 mark in Big Ten play. The Spartans are led by Abby Baker, who has 17 points on the season coming on eight goals and one assist. Allie Ahern is second on the team with nine points. Molly Cassidy will make the start in the cage, as she has made 120 saves this year with a 2.91 GAA.

Penn State holds a 23-10 all-time advantage over the Spartans in the series. Michigan State has won three of the last four matchups. Penn State's most recent win came last season with a 4-1 victory in East Lansing.

Penn State hosts the 2011 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament from Nov. 3-6. Tickets for the Big Ten Tournament can be purchased by contacting the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office at 814-865-5555. All session passes are $18 for adults and $12 for students/senior citizens. Single session tickets will run at $8 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens. Groups of 15 people or more may also purchase tickets at $12 for all session passes and $5 for a single session.
