Clemons to Feature on CBS Courage in Sports on Sunday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State ability athletics standout and Wounded Warrior Kortney Clemons will be apart of a CBS Sports special Courage in Sports on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 5:00 p.m.

Clemons, who is a Paralympic participant and qualifier for the 2011 Parapan American Games in Mexico this month, is one of many courageous athletes that are being featured by CBS. The 22nd annual show is a one-hour special that recognizes amazing individuals who have overcome monumental challenges to achieve greatness in the world of sports.

Clemons is one of four subjects in this year's episode. Clemons has become one of the finest track & field Paralympic athletes in the world. Clemons lost a leg while serving for the United States during the conflict in Iraq. Other subjects being featured are the Gainesville State School Football team, Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham along with Kevin Jordan & Tom Walter.

Ed Asner, an Emmy Award-winning actor, will narrate the feature. Previously, Courage in Sports has honored other legends such as Muhammed Ali, Hank Aaron, Arthur Ashe, Kerry Strug, Walter Payton and Cal Ripken, Jr.

During the one-hour broadcast, CBS will also have the winner of America's Choice Honor for Courage in Sports. Facebook voting determined the winner with the recipient being honored during CBS "Early Show" on Saturday, Nov. 12. Finalists for the Honor include Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand; Andrew, Paul, Colter & Willy Phillips; Michigan State's Arthur Ray, Jr.; The Fennville (Mich.) High School Basketball Team; Luther College's Chris Norton; and professional snowboarder Kevin Pearce.
