The Penn State Basketball Story Debuts Sunday

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.; DEC. 13, 2011 - The 2011-12 season of "The Penn State Basketball Story" will debut with the first episode airing Sunday, Dec. 18 in State College and nationally on the Big Ten Network on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

The highly acclaimed and award winning program will follow the Nittany Lions on and off the court during coach Patrick Chambers' first campaign with in-depth features, behind the scenes access and highlights from Penn State's battles on the hardwood. "The Penn State Basketball Story" will air eight episodes during the 2011-12 campaign and can be seen on several outlets throughout Pennsylvania and the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metro markets.

Saturday's first episode will feature a look at coach Patrick Chambers' first days on the job and the Nittany Lions' non-conference season thus far, which has featured the break-out play of junior guard Tim Frazier who currently leads the Big Ten in assists (7.2 apg) and ranks fourth in scoring (17.4), third in steals (2.3) and ninth in rebounding (5.6).

The first program will air Sun., Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m. on WTAJ (Channel 10) in State College, Altoona and Johnstown and at 11:00 p.m. on WPSU (Channel 3) in State College. It will air nationally on Tues., Dec. 20 at 10:30 a.m. on the Big Ten Network. "The Basketball Story" will also air throughout the season on WFMZ-TV (Allentown), WFXP-TV (Erie), WLYH-TV (Harrisburg), CSN-Philadelphia, Root Sports (Pittsburgh), WNEP-TV (Wilkes-Barre, Scranton) and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. "The Basketball Story," which features an inside look at the Nittany Lions' season, players and coaches, will air seven episodes throughout the Big Ten season. Those segments will begin airing January 7. Segments from the show may also be viewed at GOPSB.com.

All of Penn State's games can be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network throughout Pennsylvania with Steve Jones and Dick Jerardi calling the action. "The Penn State Basketball Show," featuring Nittany Lion coach Patrick Chambers and Steve Jones, airs each Thursday live from Damon's Grill in State College. Fans are encouraged to attend the live broadcast or call in their questions for the coach at 1-800-52LIONS.

The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game on Feb. 11 vs. Nebraska and the Lady Lions' Think Pink game on Feb. 26 vs. Minnesota.

Nittany Lion Basketball single-game tickets or group tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-NITTANY, visiting GoPSUsports.com or through Ticketmaster. Single-game tickets are $18 for the lower bowl and $15 for upper level tickets for adults. Youth tickets (18 and under) are $7 for the lower bowl and $5 for upper level seating, while Penn State student tickets (University Park or branch campus) are $5. Penn State also offers special basketball group ticket rates for groups of 15 fans or more. Nittany Lion group rates are $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
