UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's lacrosse team will finish out an early season two-game home stand on Wednesday night when it hosts Duquesne (1-0) in a 7 p.m. match at Holuba Hall.

Last Sunday, the Nittany Lions suffered a 16-6 setback to No. 2 Maryland in the program's inaugural game at Penn State Lacrosse Field. Senior goalkeeper Dana Cahill (Towson, Md.) made a career high 16 saves, including 12 in the first half, and had a team-high four ground balls. Sophomore Mackenzie Cyr (2 goals, 1 assist) and freshman Maggie McCormick (1 goal, 2 assists) led Penn State with three points each. Molly Fernandez (Baltimore, Md.), Tatum Coffey (Toms River, N.J.), and Aly Adams (Springfield, Pa.) also scored goals.

Duquesne, like Penn State, began the 2012 season with a convincing win over Bucknell. Sophomore Caitlin Prince and freshmen Clare Hurley and Amanda Kidder each recorded hat tricks, as the Dukes routed the Bison in Pittsburgh, 18-4. Six other DU players netted goals, including three with multiple scores. Goalkeeper Liz Walker played all 60 minutes in net, making seven saves.

Penn State has never faced Duquesne in program history but has compiled a 35-13 record versus other Atlantic 10 opponents. The Nittany Lions are 11-0 versus Richmond, 8-0 against Massachusetts, and 16-13 versus Temple. Penn State is 16-4 all-time in games played in Holuba Hall, including a perfect 4-0 record in 2011.
