UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 12 Penn State women's gymnastics team is back on the road one final time during the 2012 regular season visiting Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 11. Action is set for 6 p.m.
The Series: Penn State vs. Pittsburgh
Penn State is 43-2 all-time against Pittsburgh. The Nittany Lions and Panthers have met once a season for the last 11 years. The squads last met on Feb. 6, 2011 in a quad meet at Rec Hall with West Virginia and Bridgeport. The Lions won with a 195.550, while Pittsburgh took third with a 193.475. The Nittany Lions' last visit to Pittsburgh was on Feb. 13, 2010 with Penn State taking the win with a team score of 196.450 to Pitt's 194.650.
Pittsburgh Notes
The Panthers are coming off a win at George Washington on March 3. Pittsburgh scored a season-best 194.750 to GWU's 192.500 for the victory. The Panthers also earned wins in a dual meet with Bowling Green on Feb. 18 and a quad meet with Rutgers, William & Mary and George Washington on Feb. 4.
The Nittany Lions close out the regular season at home on March 17 when they host Maryland on Senior Night. The Penn State men's team will also be in action hosting Big Ten foe Minnesota. Action is set for 7 p.m.
