UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Redshirt-freshman Connor Curry (Newport Beach, Calif.) earned a spot on the Academic All-EIVA Team. Curry was one of 10 men's volleyball student-athletes across the EIVA to be honored.
To be eligible for Academic All-EIVA honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and have participating in at least 60 percent of the matches player by their team.
This is Curry's first career Academic All-EIVA award. Curry has been the starting libero in all 26 matches this season and was honored as a First Team All-EIVA selection. He leads the team in digs with 196. A four-time EIVA Defensive Player of the Week, his 2.13 digs per set is a team-best and ranks fifth in the EIVA.
As the top seed in the EIVA league playoffs, Penn State earned the right to host the EIVA Semifinals. Rec Hall is once again the site of the EIVA Championships on Thursday, April 26 and Saturday, April 28. Action is set for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on April 26 and 7 p.m. on April 28. The winner earns the league's automatic berth in the NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship held at USC on May 3 and 5.
Tickets are on sale for the EIVA Championships. Tickets for the EIVA Championships are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Students with a valid ID from a participating school are free. For groups of 15 or more tickets are $4 if purchased in advance and $5 at the door.
