UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's soccer head coach Bob Warming has announced the addition of transfer Martin Seiler (Stuttgart, Germany) to the Nittany Lion roster for the 2012 season.

Seiler, who will have junior eligibility, comes to Happy Valley after a redshirt year at St. John's. Prior to that he spent two highly successful seasons at Tyler (Texas) Junior College. At Tyler, Seiler helped the Apaches post a near perfect 41-0-1 record en route to capturing back-to-back NJCAA national championships. A defender, he earned NJCAA All-Region XIV honors as a sophomore, totaling five goals and one assist.

"We are excited to add Martin to a very good class of incoming recruits for this season," said Warming "We are counting on Martin to hit the ground running when he gets here and make a rapid adjustment to our program. Martin has never lost a soccer match since coming to America. His Tyler Junior College team won two consecutive national championships and never lost; a remarkable achievement. However, that is all in the past and we need to replace three seniors on the back line who helped us set the school record for shutouts. Martin needs to provide leadership, stability and ability for the team right away and I believe he can do just that."

Warming, who attained his milestone 400th career win in 2011, returns 13 letterwinners and eight starters from last season's team that advanced to the Big Ten Tournament title game for the third consecutive year, broke the Penn State record for shutouts in a season, and led the conference in goals allowed and goals against average. Among the returnees are the team's top three scorers in Minh Vu (Tucson, Ariz.), the 2011 Big Ten Tournament Offensive MVP, Julian Cardona (Lincoln, Neb.), and Hasani Sinclair (Coral Gables, Fla.) and the anchor of the PSU defense, goalkeeper Andrew Wolverton (Snellville, Ga.). The Nittany Lion roster will also be bolstered by a talented group of newcomers which includes six freshmen and four transfers, including Seiler.
