UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -
The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team enjoyed a well-deserved moment of recognition in front of nearly 100,000 Penn State faithful last weekend. The team took part in Penn State's annual Parade of Champions at Beaver Stadium.
Head coach Cael Sanderson's squad, the two-time defending NCAA and Big Ten Champions, was honored, along with all other Penn State team and individual conference and national champions, during intermission of Penn State's 34-7 football win over Navy last Saturday. Wearing special t-shirts designed to also commemorate Armed Services Day at the stadium, member of the Nittany Lions received a loud and boisterous standing ovation from nearly 100,000 fans as the final team called out onto the turf at Beaver Stadium. In addition to members of this year's team, former Nittany Lion national champion and four-time All-American Frank Molinaro (Barnegat, N.J.) made the return from Rutgers (where he is now an assistant coach) to take part in the ceremony.
Penn State will begin the new season on Nov. 1 when it hosts its Intrasquad Scrimmage at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. Ticket information for the 2012-13 season is forthcoming very soon.
