Women's Soccer Moves Up in Rankings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's soccer team have been bumped up to No. 8 in the NSCAA poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon. As voted by the coaches around college soccer, Penn State moves up three spots from last week to the eighth spot. In addition, Penn State sits at No. 3 in the NCAA RPI and No. 5 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll.

The Nittany Lions are coming off two impressive victories at Northwestern and Illinois this past weekend. Penn State junior Maya Hayes (West Orange, N.J.) and freshman Mallory Weber (Novi, Mich.) earned weekly Big Ten honors for their performances in those contests. Hayes was named Offensive Player of the Week for her three goals and two assists this past weekend and Weber earned Co-Freshman of the Week for scoring one goal and adding an assist.

The Nittany Lions travel to Ohio State on Thursday at 8 p.m. The contest can be viewed live on the Big Ten Network. Penn State returns home on Sunday as it will take on Minnesota at noon.
