UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State Nittany Lions jumped out to an early and commanding lead after a windy day at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Nittany Lions shot an overall 292, good for a four shot lead over second place Old Dominion. The Nittany Lions finished four over par-72, showing a great effort with the tough course conditions.

Penn State was led by the strong play of junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.), who shot a 69, good for 3 under par-72 and an outright lead over second place Joanna Henry of Columbia, who finished the day with a 71. Junior Christina Vosters (Bethany beach, Del.) also had a very nice round, finishing round one with a 73, one over par-72 and finds herself in a tie for fifth place. Sophomore Catherine Herrera (Houston, Texas) also played a very strong round, finishing with a 74 and is in a tie for ninth place.

Day two begins with tee times scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. at the Penn State Blue Course. All live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
