UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State Nittany Lions had an extremely good day at Day 2 at the Nittany Lion Invitational. Penn State finished in the same place as they did after Day 1, holding a commanding lead over the rest of the field. Penn State shot a 283, the lowest score in Penn State women's golf history. They finished as a team in an outstanding five under par. The Nittany Lions hold a huge lead after Day 2, being twenty shots ahead of second place Old Dominion. They Nittany Lions through two days shot a total of 575, one under par for the entire tournament. Every single golfer for Penn State played tremendous rounds, as junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) continued to pace the Nittany Lions as well as leading the entire field. Ceresko equaled her shot total from the day before at 69, leaving her at six under par-72. She holds a three shot lead over her fellow teammate, junior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.). Vosters on the day shot one shot below Ceresko, finishing at a 68, good enough for a five under par on the day. Sophomore Catherine Herrera (Houston, Texas) also had an impressive day, finishing with a 73. After two days, Herrera is in a tie for seventh place with a three over par, nine shots behind her teammate Ceresko. The final round concludes tomorrow, September 30 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun.
