UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) has been named the Big Ten Setter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. This is the third Setter of the Week honor for Hancock and her fourth award overall.
Hancock aided Penn State to wins against Wisconsin and No. 10 Minnesota to improve the Nittany Lions' record in conference play to 4-0. Hancock averaged 13.5 assists and 2.5 digs per set in 3-0 sweeps on the road against both squads. She guided the Penn State offense to a .386 hitting percentage for the weekend.
Against the Badgers, Hancock dished out 46 assists as she paced the Penn State offense to a .370 hitting percentage. She had four kills on seven errorless attempts and had a team-high three aces. On Saturday against the Gopheres, Hancock had 35 assists and helped Penn State to a .404 hitting percentage and posted nine digs and four kills.
Penn State is back on the road on Oct. 5-6 when it visits Northwestern and Illinois. Both matches are scheduled for 8 p.m. ET starts.
