UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore setter Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) was named the Big Ten Setter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. This is the fourth setter honor of the season for Hancock and the seventh award for the Nittany Lions.
Hancock guided Penn State to a 3-0 win at No. 20 Ohio State on Oct. 17 and a 3-2 victory at Michigan on Oct. 20. For the week, Hancock averaged 11.4 assists per set and 2.00 digs per set.
Against the Buckeyes, Hancock guided Penn State to a .342 hitting percentage. She tallied 53 assists, had five kills in seven errorless attempts and also posted seven digs. At Michigan, Hancock paced the offense to a .232 hitting percentage and registered 53 assists. She recorded seven kills and was third on the team with nine digs.
Penn State is back on the road for two matches this week. The Nittany Lions visit Iowa for an 8 p.m. match on Oct. 24 and face Nebraska on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. Both matches are live on the Big Ten Network.
