UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) was named the Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced Wednesday. This is the second honor of the season for the Nittany Lions as junior Christina Vosters was honored on Sept. 12.
Ceresko helped Penn State to a first place finish in the Nittany Lion Invitational, which took place Sept. 28-30 at the Penn State Golf Course. Ceresko, who returned to the lineup this season after missing most of 2011-12 due to injury, was the top Nittany Lion through the tournament carding a 208 to be eight under par. She posted career-best scores of 69 in rounds one and two, and a 70 in round three to claim the individual title.
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Oct. 12-14 at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Tenn.
