Petra Januskova was eliminated from the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships after losing to Lauren Embree of Florida, 6-1, 6-0, Friday afternoon.
After knocking off Aeriel Ellis in her first singles match at the championships, Januskova faced Lauren Embree.
Embree is ranked No. 5 in the preseason singles poll and is a member of the defending national champion Florida Gators.
Januskova, the No. 52 ranked player in the nation, looked to continue on in the singles brackets building off of Thursday's wins, but fell short. Embree got off to a quick start and never looked back, winning, 6-1, 6-0.
Despite the loss today, the two Nittany Lion All-Americans got some positive results against the nation's best. In doubles, Januskova and Chelsea Utting took down the No. 16 ranked doubles team of Olivia Smith and Millie Nichols from TCU on Thursday before competing against the No. 5 ranked pair in the nation from Michigan.
Petra and Chelsea will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 19 for the ITA Regionals hosted by Virginia Tech.
