Hancock Tabbed Big Ten Setter of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore setter Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) was named the Big Ten Setter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. This is the sixth Setter of the Week award for Hancock and her seventh weekly award this season. Penn State has accumulated 10 weekly awards in 2012.

Hancock helped then No. 2 Penn State clinch its ninth Big Ten title in the last 10 years with wins against Indiana (3-0) and No. 21 Purdue (3-1). For the weekend, Hancock averaged 10.4 assists, 2.00 digs and 0.3 blocks per set.

Against Indiana, Hancock tallied 35 assists, eight digs and two blocks. She paced the Nittany Lions offense to a .452 hitting percentage against the Hoosiers. At Purdue, Hancock recorded 38 assists and six digs as Penn State hit a .317 clip.

Penn State is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 21 against Ohio State for "Family Night" at Rec Hall. All children in grade eight or below are free. The Nittany Lions host Michigan State on Nov. 24 in their regular season finale. The squad's two seniors will be honored prior to the match.
