March 29, 2013

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 30 women's tennis team (11-2, 1-2) will host its Special Olympics clinic for the third consecutive year on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The event allows the athletes to partake in several drills and activities alongside the players and coaches at the Indoor Tennis Center.

Saturday's event falls between their match with Iowa today and Nebraska on Sunday allowing the Nittany Lions to stay up on their game while having fun with the athletes from Centre County.

Before hosting this clinic each of the past two years, several women's tennis members volunteered with the Special Olympics in 2009 and 2010 at the Summer Games when it came to Centre County.

All of the Special Olympics athletes and their families will be invited to be head coach Dawna Denny's guests of honor at the match against Nebraska on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Penn State hosts No. 69 Iowa tonight at 6 p.m. at the Sarni Indoor Tennis Center, where the Nittany Lions are undefeated this season. There will be a T-shirt toss as well as free pizza for all fans in attendance.
