Marton, Hurd and Schram Named 2013 Captains

April 15, 2013

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State head coach Erica Walsh has named the 2013 women's soccer team captains. Senior Lexi Marton (Ontario, Canada) returns for a third-straight year as a captain. Meanwhile, senior Taylor Schram (Canonsburg, Pa.) and junior Emily Hurd (Sammamish, Wash.) will be captains for the first times of their careers.

"Emily, Lexi and Taylor represent all the qualities we look for in Penn State Women's Soccer players both on and off the field," said Walsh. "Each one works hard in the classroom, is committed to the success of this program on the field, and plays an active role in our community. We could not ask for a better complement of talent and personality to lead our program into the 2013 season."

Winners of 15-straight Big Ten title, Penn State posted its second-straight 20-win season and advanced to the 2012 College Cup Title game for the first time in school history. The Nittany Lions appearance in the championship game was just the second appearance by a Big Ten school in the national championship.
