UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Penn State Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington announced the addition of 5-10 transfer Sierra Moore (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) to the Lady Lion roster. Moore, who will sit out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA transfer rules, will have three years of eligibility remaining when she begins competing for the Lady Lions in 2014-15. Moore was a McDonald's High School All-American at Delone Catholic, giving the Lady Lions four McDonald's honorees on the roster along with Maggie Lucas (Narberth, Pa.), Dara Taylor (Wilmington, Del.) and Candice Agee (Victorville, Calif.).

"We are really excited to have Sierra join our program," Washington said. "She brings tremendous defensive ability and is an outstanding athlete. It's great to have her back in home in Pennsylvania."

Moore comes to Penn State after playing her freshman season at Duke University. She played in 25 games in her rookie campaign and averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils. Moore also tallied 12 assists and 11 blocks in 2012-13. She shot 44.8% (26-58) from the field in her freshman campaign. Her best performance was a 10-point, three-assist effort against Cal State-Bakersfield on Dec. 21.

The Hanover, Pa. native was a standout at Delone Catholic where she was the 21st-rated player by Blue Star Report, 26th by Peach State Hoops and 49th by ESPN HoopGurlz as a senior in high school. Moore garnered Gatorade Player of the Year and Associated Press Class AA Player of the Year honors in the state of Pennsylvania as a high school senior year. Additionally, she took home Parade Magazine All-America honors and was a four-time Gettysburg Time All-Area Player of the Year. She was first team All-State in 2011 and 2010 and was a third team honoree in 2009.

Moore holds the York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) scoring record with 2,595 points at Delone Catholic. She also accounted for 1,031 rebounds, 432 assists, 360 steals and 150 blocks for the Squirettes. As a senior, she averaged 24.7 points, 3.9 assists, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.2 blocks as she led Delone Catholic to a 23-6 record and an appearance in the PIAA state quarterfinals. She was also a track standout at Delone Catholic where she finished in the Top 10 in the State Championships in the 200-meters (7th in 2009 and 2010) and 4x100 relay (4th in 2009).

The addition of Moore means the Lady Lions will have eight new faces on the roster next season. Moore joins guards Lindsey Spann (Laurel, Md./Good Counsel) and KeKe Sevillian (Goodrich, Mich./Goodrich), swing players Jenny DeGraaf (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), Kaliyah Mitchell (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson), Peyton Whitted (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett), forward Alex Harris (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain Southview) and center Infiniti Alston (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor), who signed National Letters of Intent in November.
