UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's lacrosse incoming freshman Steph Lazo (Stevensville, Md.) shined at the 2013 Under Armour All-America Classic at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium Saturday afternoon. As a member of the South All-America Team, Lazo scored two goals as the North All-Americans secured an 18-16 victory.

A Stevensville, Md., native, Lazo will join the Nittany Lions following an impressive career at St. Mary's High School. The two-time captain totaled 51 points (43g, 8a) as a senior en route to all-conference, second-team all-county and team MVP accolades. In 2012, the midfielder earned first-team all-county, all-conference, all-county private school and All-Met honorable mention recognition.

Lazo, who also played for Maryland United 2013 East, previously participated in Under Armour Underclassman Elite Stars Tournaments in both 2011 and 2012. The 2013 Under Armour All-Americans were selected by a panel of lacrosse experts from Inside Lacrosse.

In 2013, Penn State (14-7) recorded its most victories since 1999 and reached consecutive NCAA tournaments for the first time since 1995-97. The Nittany Lions also defeated their highest ranked opponent since 2007 and finished undefeated at home (9-0) for the first time since 1991.
