Kickoff to Tipoff Package Offered by Nittany Lion Football and Lady Lion Basketball

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State football team and the Lady Lion basketball team have joined forces to offer Penn State fans a fantastic weekend of Penn State sports with the Kickoff to Tipoff package for the weekend of Nov. 16-17 for just $75. The Kickoff to Tipoff package goes on sale with football single-game tickets on Tuesday, July 30.

The package includes one Blue Zone ticket to the Nittany Lion football game against Purdue on Saturday, Nov. 16, one ticket to the Lady Lion contest against defending National Champion Connecticut on Sunday, Nov. 17 and a photo of head coaches Bill O'Brien and Coquese Washington. The first 150 fans to sign up for the Kickoff to Tipoff package will receive an autographed framed photo of O'Brien and Washington.

Fans can purchase the Kickoff to Tipoff package by calling 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269) beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30. Penn State Athletics Ticket Sales Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

O'Brien's squad returns 16 starters and 37 letterwinners for this year. Penn State opens its 127th season vs. Syracuse on August 31 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. The Nittany Lions will host five bowl teams from 2012, including three teams that finished in the BCS Top 25: Michigan (Oct. 12-Homecoming), Nebraska (Nov. 23) and Kent State (Sept. 21). Purdue, Illinois, UCF and Eastern Michigan also will visit Beaver Stadium this fall.

The Lady Lions won their second-straight Big Ten regular season title with a 26-6 overall record and 14-2 mark in conference play last season. Guided by the two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year in Washington, Penn State will return the 2013 Big Ten Player of the Year Maggie Lucas (Narberth, Pa.) and Big Ten All-Defensive team choice Dara Taylor (Wilmington, Del.). The Lady Lions will also add an eight-player recruiting class that ranks in the Top 10 in the country. Lucas is coming off of an outstanding junior campaign that saw her take home top conference honors, as well as All-America accolades from the WBCA, Associated Press, USBWA and Full Court.
