UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - This week's Iron Workers Local Union No. 3 "Ironman of the Game" is DaQuan Jones (Johnson City, N.Y.). DaQuan Jones' statistics from Saturday show that he had a dominating performance. The senior earned an impressive 10 tackles against Eastern Michigan. In addition, he had two tackles for loss and one sack. After the game he stated, "This year I'm trying to go out there and make plays and be an impact guy."
Jones took it to the next level when he took the challenge of dropping weight and increasing his strength. Jones lost 15 pounds in the offseason and can bench press more than 400 pounds.
The Johnson City native started the first 11 games in the 2012 season. The defensive tackle earned 22 tackles throughout that season, four coming against Ohio.
The former high school standout also saw playing time in his sophomore and freshman years at the same position. With both seasons combined, he saw action on 415 snaps.
The senior will play a vital role for the Nittany Lions throughout the 2013 season.
