Sept. 11, 2013
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 11, 2013 - Senior forward Alan Wisniewski (Sterling Heights. Mich.), has been placed on scholarship as announced to Wednesday by Penn State head coach Patrick Chambers. Wisniewski is in his third year with the Nittany Lions after joining the team as a walk-on in 2011-12.
"Alan works tremendously hard and his teammates respect him for the attitude he brings to our locker-room," Chambers said. "He has developed into a leader of our team. We are happy to be able to recognize his dedication with a scholarship for the upcoming season."
Wisniewski has appeared in 18 games during his career, including 12 contests last season. The Michigan native played a season-high 17 minutes at Nebraska on Feb. 9, going 2-3 from the field to score six points and grabbing eight rebounds.
An engineering major, Wisniewski possesses an incredible work ethic that impressed the coaches and has earned the respect of his peers.
