UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- After a tough opening tournament at the Cougar Classic, the Penn State women's golf team looks to bounce back at a tournament they had success at last year, the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate. The tournament, hosted by the University of Tennessee, was won by the Nittany Lions last season. Penn State shot a 867 through the three rounds; the second lowest score last season. The tournament is being held at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., which is a par 71, 5,897-yard long course.
There will be 17 teams fighting to claim victory this weekend, which include: Arkansas, Campbell, Chattanooga, College of Charleston, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Rollins, South Carolina, Tennessee, Tulane, UCF, and UTSA.
The tournament begins on Friday, September 20 and carries through Sunday, September 22. Tee times for all three days are set for 8:30 a.m., with Penn State teeing of at 9:25 a.m. on Friday. Live scoring will be available via www.golfstat.com.
