UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Former Penn State Lady Lions Alex Bentley and Tanisha Wright were among the players honored by the WNBA on Friday for their outstanding play. Bentley was part of the five-player WNBA All-Rookie Team, while Wright took home her fourth WNBA All-Defensive first team selection.

She ranks third in the league in assists per turnover (2.4), 18th in total assists (95) and 19th in three-point field goal percentage (.329). Among rookies, Bentley is fourth in scoring. Earlier this season, she broke the WNBA record for consecutive three-pointers made with 10. Among rookies, Bentley ranks fourth in scoring and third in steals and assists.

Wright, who is in her ninth season in the Seattle Storm, accounts for 11.9 points, 4.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. She is eight in the league in total assists (130), sixth in total minutes played (1,016) and 10th in assists per game. She is also 14th in free throw percentage (.855). Wright surpassed the 2,000-point mark for her WNBA career earlier this season. In eight career playoff appearances, Wright is averaging 10.0 points, 3.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals. The two-time WNBA All-Defensive first team selection helped the Storm to the 2010 WNBA Championship.
