Penn State in Second Place after Day One at Nittany Lion Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- As the sun shined down on the Penn State Blue Course, the Penn State women's golf team showed why they love playing on their home course. After one round at the Nittany Lion Invitational, the Nittany Lions are sitting in second place after posting a round one score of 293. Penn State is five strokes over par with two rounds to play as they try to defend their title from last season.

Senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) picked up where junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) left off last year as Vosters stormed out to an early lead. Vosters shot a first round 69 to go three under par after the first round. Vosters holds a one shot lead over Jennifer Ha of Kent State. Ceresko is in a tie for fifth place after shooting a first round 72. Junior Catherine Herrera (Houston, Texas), playing as an individual, opened the tournament by recording a score of 74, equaling two shots over par and is sitting in a tie for 15th place.
