Individual Results Round 1

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - After one round at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, Penn State is in 13th place at the Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn.

Sophomore JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) leads the Nittany Lion starters with a 1-over 73 after the first 18 holes and is tied-for-29th. Junior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.) is currently one stroke behind Dornes, posting a 74 on the day while junior Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) marked a 78 and is tied-for 64th.

Sophomore Geoff Vartelas (Cromwell, Conn.) shot an 80 on day one of the tournament. In freshman Cody Cox's (Milford, Pa.) first start for Penn State, he tallied a score of 83 and is in 76th place going into round two.

In freshman Christian Elliott's (Port Perry, Ontario) first collegiate competition playing as an individual, he is tied-for-23rd with a score of 72 on the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges.

ETSU leads all teams at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, shooting an 11-under 277 in the first round of play. Rhys Pugh of ETSU also holds the first place player position with a 6-under 66.
