UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) earned Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week honors for her efforts in the Nittany Lion Invitational this past weekend, conference officials announced Wednesday. Ceresko finished the tournament in fourth-place at one over par and helped the Nittany Lions to a third-place finish in the event. The honor marks the second time Ceresko has won the award, after having earned it last season when she won the Nittany Lion Invitational.
The Jefferson Township native is the first member of Penn State women's golf team to be awarded Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week this season. Last season, two Penn State golfers won this award, including Ceresko and senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.).
The Nittany Lions are back in action October 7, traveling to Greenville, N.C. for the Pirate Intercollegiate. Follow Penn State women's golf on Twitter @PennStateWGolf and on Facebook at Penn State Women's Golf.
