NEW HAVEN, Conn. -
Penn State women's tennis closed out their time at the Bulldog Invite playing in one doubles match and two singles matches on the final day of play. Carmen Sandor (Toronto, Canada) secured her second singles victory in as many days to lead the Nittany Lions.
The Nittany Lions started out in doubles Sunday afternoon with Sandor and Samantha Tutelman (New York, N.Y.) competing against Shelby Talcott of Iowa and Andjela Djokovic of Purdue. The mixed Big Ten duo knocked off the Penn State pair 8-3 in the only doubles match played on the day.
Penn State moved into singles where they competed in two matches against Brown. In the first Sandor knocked off Ammu Mandalap 6-3, 6-2. Marie-Frederique Bedard (Montreal, Canada) closed out the day's action facing Mariska Chamdani. Bedard retired in the second set down 7-5, 3-0 to conclude the Nittany Lions slate for the day.
Penn State will head back to Happy Valley where they will have a week off from tournament play before heading to Charlottesville, Va. for the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament beginning on October 18.
