UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- As the quick two-day tournament came to an end, the Penn State women's golf team stayed consistent but couldn't pull out a win at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. With a third round score of 306, the Nittany Lions finished in sixth place with a total of 911 shots.
Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) shot a third round one over par 73 to finish at seven shots over par in the event. Ceresko finished tied for eighth, marking her second straight top ten finish. Senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) finished tied for 15th after posting a third round score of 78. Junior Catherine Herrera (Houston, Texas) recorded a third round 75, which put her in a tie for 25th with 230 shots. Sophomore Grace Chung (Ontario, Canada) finished one shot behind Herrera as Chung finished in a tie for 30th after recording a third round 80.
East Tennessee St. held on to the lead from day one and won the tournament, shooting a third round 301 to defeat Middle Tennessee by four strokes. Avery George of Middle Tennessee won the individual tournament, finishing two strokes under par.
The Nittany Lions are back in action Saturday, Oct. 19 competing in the Hoosier Fall Invitational, hosted by Indiana University. The two-day even concludes Sunday, Oct. 20.
