Allen Robinson Receives Ironman Honors for Indiana Game

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson has been named the Iron Workers Union No. 3 "Ironman of the Game" for his performance at Indiana in the Big Ten opener. He made a career-high of 12 catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

His 12 catches rank second in Penn State history, behind Freddie Scott's 13 receptions vs. Wisconsin (1995). Robinson has a career total of 16 touchdown passes. The Michigan native registered 611 yards for five touchdowns in five games this season.

Robinson earned "Ironman of the Week" twice last season. The first honor was after his outstanding performance against Ohio in the season opener. In that contest, he completed a nine-catch effort for 97 yards. The second honor was after his remarkable performance against Indiana. In that game, he hauled 10 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns. His season total of 1,013 yards earned the third 1,000-yard receiving season in Penn State history. The Nittany Lion logged a total of 77 receptions in the 2012 season. He started all 12 games at wide receiver.

As a true freshman in 2011, he saw action in over 12 games. He nabbed three catches for 29 yards and saw action in 93 plays.
