WENTZVILLE, Mo. - Despite a quick goal from Jordin Pardoski (Rochester Hills, Mich.) to open the game, Lindenwood's two-goal second period proved to be too much for Penn State to overcome Friday night as they fell to Lindenwood, 2-1 in Wentzville, Mo.

For the fourth game in a row the Nittany Lions scored the game's first goal. Pardoski got Penn State on the board with her second goal of the year just 2:38 into the game. Pardoski entered the game tied for 7th in goals among defensive players in the CHA. Jill Holdcroft (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.) and Jess Desorcie (Westford, Vt.) assisted on the goal for the Nittany Lions.

Both teams traded opportunities following the goal in the opening period but Penn State went to the second holding onto their 1-0 lead. The Lions of Lindenwood controlled the middle period outshooting the Nittany Lions 18-6 while netting both of their goals.

Less than two minutes into the period Carrie Atkinson evened the game at one goal a piece giving Lindenwood the momentum. Leah Elledge earned the assist on the Lindenwood goal.

The Nittany Lions tried to get a quick response but Nicole Hensley brushed aside the barrage of Penn State shots before Lindenwood cleared the zone. Lindenwood took back control of the puck unleashing shot after shot. Nicole Paniccia (Oakville, Ont.) stopped the first five attempts but Jocelyn Slattery's shot found the back of the net giving Lindenwood a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.

Penn State killed off both of the Lindenwood power plays but were unable to take advantage, failing to score on any of their three power play chances including one late in the third period.

Paniccia finished the game with 33 saves and Penn State out blocked the Lions 18-8. The defeat is the fifth-consecutive one-goal loss for the Nittany Lions who will square off against Lindenwood in the series finale tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET.
