UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., December 10, 2013 - The Penn State men's and women's gymnastics programs will host their annual Blue-White Showcase on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. inside Rec Hall. Admission to the event is free, but fans are encouraged to bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots.

For the fourth straight season, the men's and women's programs will polish their skills at the Blue-White Showcase, which gives fans a sneak preview of both 2014 squads. The intrasquad meet will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature fan interaction, games and activities throughout the meet.

Additionally, there will be a pizza party immediately following the meet on the concourse of Rec Hall. Also, the women's program will be autographing their 2014 team posters following the meet.

Men's head coach Randy Jepson enters his 23rd season at the helm of the men's program and will have to replace seven seniors from a squad that placed fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2013. The Nittany Lions return National Floor Exercise Champion Trevor Howard and All-Americans Adrian Evans (pommel horse) and Matthew Felleman (high bar).

Also returning for the Blue and White is high bar school record holder Wasef Burbar, Big Ten Champion and pommel horse school record holder Craig Hernandez and parallel bars school record holder Néstor Rodriguez.

On the women's side, head coach Jeff Thompson enters this fourth season at the helm of the Nittany Lions program and will return a number of experienced student-athletes for the 2014 campaign. The squad will have to replace All-American Sharaya Musser in all four event lineups, but return the bulk of their rotations from a 2013 squad that finished fourth at the NCAA Regional.

Seniors Lindsay Musgrove and Kassidy Stauder return to lead a veteran squad that also features five juniors and five sophomore returning with experience. Thompson's squad also welcomes three newcomers in freshmen Nicole Medvitz, Tina Postiglione and Emma Sibson.

Lexi Carroll topped the floor exercise charts last season for the Nittany Lions and is top returner on vault entering 2014. Samantha Musto is the top returner on the uneven bars and Alix Faden owns the top returning mark on the balance beam. Junior Sidney Sanabria-Robles ranked second on the team in 2013 behind Musser in all around and will look to continue her solid performance on each event.
