2014 MLL Supplemental Draft

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Former Nittany Lion standout Jack Forster was selected 40th in Major League Lacrosse's Supplemental Draft on Wednesday afternoon by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.

Forster, who completed his time in Happy Valley this past May, will join the Bayhawks this spring with the chance of making the final squad for the 2014 season. The MLL Collegiate Draft will be held in January for current student-athletes. The supplemental draft serves to select graduated seniors that weren't taken in the previous year's collegiate draft as well as former MLL players to fill out rosters ahead of the 2014 season.

Forster ended his amazing career at Penn State tied for second all-time in goals scored with 104 tallies. This past season was his best by scoring 41 times with 16 assists and 57 points, all of which were career highs. The 57 points were the most scored by a Nittany Lion since 1995 (Erik Merkel, 61). For his career, Forster notched 148 points, the sixth-most in Penn State history.

Additionally, Forster was named to the 72nd edition of the USILA North-South Game in May following an All-CAA First Team season for the Nittany Lions, who won the CAA regular season title with a perfect 6-0 record. Forster also served as a co-captain during the 2013 season, which saw the Nittany Lions return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005 and host its first NCAA game in University Park.

The Bayhawks are the defending MLL champions following a 10-9 victory over Charlotte in August's championship contest. One of Forster's teammates, Matthew Mackrides, helped lead the Bayhawks to their third title in four years. Mackrides scored 21 goals with nine assists and 30 points during 30 games last season. One of the nine assists came on the eventual game-winning goal in the MLL title bout.
