ROSEMONT, Ill. -- After guiding the No. 2 Pen State women's volleyball team to a pair of conference victories in the final two regular-season matches of the year, junior Micha Hancock has earned her fifth Big Ten Setter of the Week honor this season. Hancock helped Penn State extend its winning streak to 19 consecutive matches, directing the Nittany Lion offense to wins at Ohio State and No. 10 Nebraska.
The award is her 15th career Big Ten weekly award and 11th Setter of the Week accolade.
At Ohio State, she paced the squad to a .330 overall hitting percentage, leading the team to an outright Big Ten Championship with a 3-0 win against the Buckeyes. Hancock notched a double-double in the victory, totaling 28 assists and 14 digs, while also adding one ace and one block. In front of a record crowd at Nebraska, she distributed 49 assists, while tallying one ace, nine digs and two kills.
Averaging 0.64 aces per set, ranks second in the NCAA national standings, while also leading the conference in the category. Her 11.13 assists per frame ranks second in the conference as well as 30th nationally.
Hancock and the rest of the Penn State women's volleyball team (28-2, 19-1) will host Northeast Conference champion LIU Brooklyn (23-7) in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Rec Hall.
All-session tickets for the 2013 NCAA Tournament first and second rounds at Penn State will go on sale Monday, Dec. 2nd at 10 a.m. All-session tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $10 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Groups of 20 or more may purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $8.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-800 -NITTANY or by visiting the Athletics Ticket Office in the Bryce Jordan Center from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Single-match tickets will only be sold at the door the night of each match. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6th.
