UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The eighth-ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team will play its second straight home game Tuesday, Feb. 25 when it welcomes Duquesne to Holuba Hall. Opening draw between the Nittany Lions (1-1, 0-0 ALC) and Dukes (1-0, 0-0 A-10) is set at 7 p.m.

LIMITED BAG POLICY
Penn State has implemented a limited bag policy at all home athletic events this season. One clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag per person will be permitted for medical needs, child care needs and general items as needed. Items that can fit in a pocket should remain in patrons' pockets (i.e. keys, cell phone, wallet, glasses, camera, sunscreen, lip balm, make-up). General items of this nature, including those that don't fit in patrons' pocket, can also be placed in a clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag.

ALL-TIME VS. DUQUESNE
The Nittany Lions are 2-0 all-time against Duquesne, defeating the Dukes by 16-5 and 16-9 scores during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, respectively.

Among returning players, senior Mackenzie Cyr and junior Kelly Lechner lead the Nittany Lions with five goals each, while both juniors Tatum Coffey and Maggie McCormick have netted three goals in two career games. In 2013, then-freshman goalkeeper Emi Smith made six saves in the win.

LAST TIME VS. THE DUKES
Ten Nittany Lions reached the back of the net in Penn State's 16-9 victory at Rooney Field Feb. 27, 2013. Maggie McCormick paced the squad with six points, including a career-high five assists, while Mackenzie Cyr extended her point-scoring streak to 10 games with three goals.

Final Stats (PSU-DUQ): Shots (34-24), Saves (7-13), Ground Balls (7-7), Draw Controls (16-11), Turnovers (16-16), Caused Turnovers (7-7).

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes will enter the game at 1-0 after defeating Howard, 22, 4, Feb. 19. Amanda Kidder, who paces the team with four draw controls, leads Duquesne with six points (5g, 1a), while Morgan Matz and Haley Marafioti have contributed three goals and an assist each. Both Kristen Gregory and Jenna Bishop saw action in net against Howard, with Gregory making one save in nearly 32 minutes played. Bishop made four stops.

LAST TIME OUT
Freshman midfielder Abby Smucker netted her first two-goal in her home debut, while Madison Cyr scored twice for the second straight game in Penn State's 14-7 setback against Maryland Feb. 22.

Senior Mackenzie Cyr added a two-point contest (1g, 1a), while junior Kelly Lechner and sophomore Jenna Mosketti also scored. Freshman goalkeeper Cat Rainone made three saves in the opening half, while sophomore Emi Smith turned aside 10 shots in relief.

Final Stats (PSU-MD): Shots (36-31), Saves (13-21), Ground Balls (10-10), Draw Controls (10-12), Turnovers (7-16), Caused Turnovers (12-4).

COFFEY COMES OUT STRONG
Junior midfielder Tatum Coffey matched her career high in points (6) in Penn State's season-opening win against Bucknell Feb. 19.

MOSKETTI SETS BENCHMARK
Sophomore Jenna Mosketti set personal bests in goals (4) and draw controls (6) in a 21-9 victory against Bucknell Feb. 19.

LIONS SHINE IN DEBUTS
Junior transfer Jess Loizeaux and freshmen Taylor Bleistein, Steph Lazo and Abby Smucker all scored in their Nittany Lion debuts against Bucknell. In the cage, freshman Cat Rainone earned the victory, making three saves in her first career start, while junior transfer Natalia Angelo turned aside one shot in relief.

GETTING OFFENSIVE
With 21 goals against Bucknell Feb. 19, the Nittany Lions netted their most goals in a game since scoring 22 against the Bison March 2, 2011.

STARTING THINGS OFF RIGHT
Penn State opened the season at 1-0 for the third straight year with its victory against Bucknell.

CYR CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Senior Mackenzie Cyr entered the 2014 season with an eye on the Penn State record books. The Westminster, Md., native has collected 82 assists in her stellar career, good for fifth on the Nittany Lions' all-time list.

LOOKING AHEAD
Penn State will hit the road for a weekend matchup against No. 9/16 Virginia Saturday, March 1. Game time is set at noon.
