UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -After allowing 30 first-half points to the Shockers on 10-of-27 shooting from the field, the Lady Lions turned up the intensity on defense in the second half to thwart Wichita State's upset bid.
The Lady Lions struggled to find their defensive identity against Wichita State in the first half, allowing the Shockers to go on a 14-0 run to take a 16-7 lead at the 9:50 mark.
"In the first half we were not aggressive enough defensively," said Penn State head coach Coquese Washington.
