Penn State Tied for Fifth at Bryan National Collegiate

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- With the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate in the books, the Penn State women's golf team is tied for fifth with Clemson and Florida. Penn State opened the tournament by posting an opening round 300, equaling 12 shots over par. Penn State is eight shots behind the leaders.

Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) is tied for tenth after posting a first round 73, one shot over par. Junior Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ont.) shot an opening round 75 and is tied for 25th. Senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.), coming off of her first career individual championship, and junior Catherine Herrera (Houston, Texas) are tied for 34th after both recording a 76.

Duke is leading the tournament through the first round after posting an opening round 292. There is a three-way tie for first as Laetitia Beck of Duke, Kelly Grassel of Michigan State, and Portland Rosen of Virginia all recorded first round scores of 70, equaling two strokes under par.
