MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the first time this season, PJ Musico led the Nittany Lions out of the tunnel and onto the ice. He was making his first start of the season, and he was doing so against the No. 2 team in the nation.
It was bright lights for the goal and Musico answered the call time and time again throughout the game.
Penn State was coming off a 5-1 loss the night before and was anxious to find some momentum early. Luckily for head coach Guy Gadowsky and his squad, Musico was up for the challenge and led the Nittany Lions well.
"He's a battler," Gadowsky said of Musico. "The guys play hard for him. He is an absolute battler. I thought he looked great and he made some huge saves and kept us in the game. Then we scored, and I actually thought we sort of tilted the ice a little bit. Minnesota is an excellent hockey team and I am not saying they didn't deserve to win...but I thought we could have won, as well."
