Curry Tabbed Academic All-EIVA

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Redshirt junior Connor Curry has earned his third consecutive spot on the Academic All-EIVA team, as announced by the conference this afternoon. Curry joins 14 other student-athletes from six different league schools on the squad.

Marking his third career Academic All-EIVA honor, Curry has served as Penn State's starting libero for the last three seasons, picking up three All-EIVA awards along the way. As one of two team captains this year, he's played in every set for the Nittany Lions in 2014.In addition to recording nine double-digit dig performances, his team-high 2.44 digs per frame ranks third in the conference and 12th nationally.

To be eligible for Academic All-EIVA honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and have participated in at least 60 percent of the matches played by their team.

Penn State returns to action Saturday, April 26, taking on No. 3 seed Princeton in the EIVA Championship finals at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. The top-seeded Nittany Lions will look to capture their 16th consecutive conference crown and 26th overall in the matchup against the Tigers. Penn State is 3-1 all-time against Princeton in EIVA/ECVL Championship matches, having most recently captured a straight-set victory agains the Tigers in 2010 for the conference title.

Tickets are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 12 and younger. Group tickets are available at a discounted rate of $4 for group of 15 or more with an advance sale. Admission is free of charge to any student with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-NITTANY or at the door on gameday.
