2014 Boys' Under Armour All-Americans Announced

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's lacrosse team learned that three of its incoming freshman earned invites to the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic to be played Saturday, July 12 at 5 p.m. in Towson, Md. This is the second straight year three future Lions will participate in the showcase event.

Attackmen Ryan Keenan (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Tanner Peck (Lincoln University, Pa.) will feature on the North and South teams, respectively. Goalie Will Schreiner (Kemblesville, Pa.) will join fellow Avon Grove teammate Peck on the South squad. The remaining members of the 2014 recruiting class will be announced in late summer.

The 2014 game will be the ninth straight year of ESPNU broadcasting the boys' game from Johnny Unitas Stadium. The teams were chosen by a panel from Inside Lacrosse magazine which used input from college and high school coaches across the country. Nominations from the public were also accepted.

Keenan, Peck and Schreiner are set to join 2013 All-Americans Mike Sutton (Sewell, N.J.), Nick Aponte (West Islip, N.J.) and Nick Mazza (Davidsonville, Md.). Sutton was a late-season revelation for the Nittany Lions by scoring 12 goals in the final five games of the season en route to an All-CAA Rookie Team honor. Aponte registered two goals and five assists in 11 games, while Mazza tallied a goal in four appearances this season.

The Nittany Lions check in with Virginia tied for sixth among colleges with All-America participants. Duke heads the pack with six, Maryland and Notre Dame with five, while Johns Hopkins and North Carolina each have four.

The Big Ten Conference boasts 13 future representatives, second most among all conferences only behind the ACC (20). The next closest conferences are the Ivy League and Big East with four entrances apiece.

Penn State returns seven of its top 10 scorers from a year ago as it takes part in the inaugural season of Big Ten men's lacrosse. The six-team league will feature the Nittany Lions, Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland, Rutgers and Johns Hopkins.
