Four Nittany Lions Competing in MLL

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's lacrosse program has four of its alums--Drew Adams, Greg Gurenlian, Matthew Mackrides and Austin Kaut--seeing time in Major League Lacrosse this season.

The 2014 season is five games old and four former Nittany Lions are making their stamp in MLL. The New York Lizards are 3-2 in the early going led by Adams, who has saved 52.5 percent of the shots he's faced. His 11.34 GAA is currently the lowest he's posted in his five-year professional career.

Adams' teammate Gurenlian leads the league at the X, winning 60.9 percent of his 138 faceoffs with 84 wins. Gurenlian has 30 ground balls and a pair of goals to his name this season as well.

Mackrides is coming off a championship season in 2013 where he scored 21 goals in 13 games by tallying six goals in his first five games this season. His Chesapeake Bayhawks are currently 1-4.

Kaut made his professional debut May 17 against Charlotte as he came in late during a 14-6 win for the Boston Cannons. Kaut was selected 19th overall in the college draft.

The Denver Outlaws lead the standings at 3-2 followed by Rochester, New York and Florida at 3-2. Boston and Ohio are 2-3, while Charlotte and Chesapeake are each 1-4. The MLL regular season is 14 games long and runs until Aug. 9.
