UNVIERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's hockey head coach Josh Brandwene announced the addition of transfer Hannah Bramm (Tampa, Fla.) for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Bramm, a forward, will be a junior this fall after playing two seasons for the University of Minnesota Duluth.
"Hannah brings experience, strength, skill and a fabulous work ethic to our veteran lineup." Brandwene said. "She's an excellent teammate and will fit in very well with our program. We are very excited to welcome Hannah to the Penn State women's hockey family."
Bramm played in all 36 games last season for the Bulldogs as a sophomore, supplying three goals, seven assists and 10 points. Bramm posted a plus-three rating and tallied three two-assist games, including a pair of back-to-back feats against St. Cloud State in December 2013. UMD went 15-15-6, won its WCHA First Round matchup with Ohio State and concluded its season in the WCHA Final Face-Off against NCAA runner-up Minnesota.
For her collegiate career, Bramm has dressed for 63 games with four goals, nine assists and 13 points. As a freshman, Bramm appeared in 27 games, scoring her first collegiate goal in game-winning fashion over St. Cloud State.
""I chose Penn State because of the exciting future of the program, outstanding academics, and the team-first culture the program is based around," Bramm said.
Prior to her time at UMD, Bramm played at the North America Hockey Academy in Vermont alongside Nittany Lion junior Shannon Yoxheimer (Jackson, Mich.). At NAHA, Bramm notched 34 goals, including 21 in 2011-12 to earn the team's Most Improved Player award.
Bramm joins a Nittany Lion program set to embark on its third varsity season in 2013-14. Last year's leading scorers Hannah Hoenshell (Plano, Texas), Laura Bowman (Minnetonka, Minn.), Shannon Yoxheimer (Jackson, Mich.) and Amy Petersen (Minnetonka, Minn.) look to lead Penn State offensively next season. Bowman was named to the All-CHA Rookie Team in 2013-14, while Yoxheimer earned the same honor during PSU's inaugural season.
Season tickets for the 2014-15 season are currently on sale. The Nittany Lions will play 16 regular-season contests at Pegula Ice Arena beginning with the home opener vs. Quinnipiac on Oct. 11.
Packages for the upcoming season at Pegula Ice Arena will remain the same price ($50) as last year. Purchases can be made over the phone (1-800-NITTANY) or by visiting the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.).
