2014-15 Women's Golf Schedule
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State women's golf team is gearing up for another exciting year as their 2014-15 schedule has recently been released. This season Penn State will compete in eight tournaments, playing four during the fall semester and four during the spring semester.
Penn State will start the fall by heading to South Carolina to play the Cougar Classic, a tournament in which the Nittany Lions placed 13th last year.
The next tournament in which Penn State will partake is its own annual event, the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Lions finished third in the event last year, which was their second-best result of the 2013-14 season. Next, the Lions will go back on the road for the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate where they will look to improve upon their 13th place finish last year. One week later, the Nittany Lions will wrap up their fall semester at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The team will begin their spring semester on March 2 as they will head south for the Hurricane Invitational in sunny Miami, Fla. Later that week, the Nittany Lions will travel to northern Florida for the Gator invitational, which will be held March 6-8. Penn State then heads to the Briar's Creek invitational in Charleston, S.C, where the Nittany Lions finished a team-best second last year. Afterwards, the Lions will travel to Greensboro, N.C. to play in the Bryan Park Intercollegiate to finish off their regular season. Shortly after the Big Ten Championships will take place from April 24-26 with an NCAA Championship berth on the line.
In the 2013-14 season the Lions captured three Top 5 finishes during the regular season at the Nittany Lion Invitational, the Kiawah Island Invitational and the Briar's Creek Invitational. Penn State will have the advantage of experience this year as they will look to their five seniors Ellen Ceresko, Elyse Archambault, Katlyn Elliott, Catherine Herrera, and Erin Michel, to lead the team this year. Ceresko successfully qualified for the NCAA Championship as an individual in the 2012-13 season.
