Mike Hull Receives Ironman of the Week Honors for Stellar Performance Against Akron

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Linebacker Mike Hull (Canonsburg, Pa.) has been named the Iron Workers Union No. 3 "Ironman of the Game" for his outstanding performance in the home opener against Akron. Hull was a major contribution to the Nittany Lion defense with 11 tackles including eight solo and one sack to aid in the 21-3 win over the Zips.

Continuing "Linebacker U" tradition, Hull opened the 2014 season with 11 tackles (seven solo four assist) against UCF in the Croke Park Classic in Dublin, Ireland.

Previous to the season, Athlon Sports and Lindy's named him to the first team preseason All-Big Ten.

Last season, the Nittany Lion completed a total of 78 tackles. He ranked fifth in the Big Ten with 9.1 tackles per game in Big Ten play and made eight starts playing in a total of ten games.

Hull made his first career start against Wisconsin in 2012 where he made five tackles. He saw action in every game during his sophomore and junior seasons.

Also dominant in the classroom, Hull is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
