Oct. 12, 2014 JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate ended in just two rounds after persistent rain storms caused the cancellation of the final 18 holes early Sunday. Penn State finished the tournament in third place among a competitive field of 15, marking a 291 and 278 to tally a 7-under 569 at the Blackthorn Club.
"It was very satisfying to see these guys battle a great field of teams in tough conditions and get the job done," head coach Greg Nye said.
Junior JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) fired a 69 at the Blackthorn Club on Saturday to total a 3-under 141 strokes and finish tied for 8th. Sophomores Cody Cox (Milford, Pa.) and Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) completed the tournament just a stroke behind Dornes and tied for 12th overall.
Senior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.) carded a 144 (73-71) 36-hole score.
Freshman Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) rounded out the Nittany Lion lineup with a two-round score of 149.
