Nittany Lions Set for Georgetown Intercollegiate

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will finish its fall season at the 54-hole Georgetown Intercollegiate Monday. The 7,100 yard, par-71 Members Club at Four Streams Golf Course will host a 12-team field.

Joining the Nittany Lions in Bealsville, Md. will be Illinois State, DePaul, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Seattle, St. Josephs, Temple, Toledo, US Naval Academy, Weber State and William and Mary College.

Senior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.), junior JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.), sophomores Cody Cox (Milford, Pa.) and Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) and freshman Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) will comprise the starting lineup for the Blue and White.

Junior Geoff Vartelas (Cromwell, Conn.) will hit the links as an individual.

Penn State will look to best its finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate a year prior, as the team placed third overall in 2013 posting an 876 team total. Three players finished in the top-25 (Dornes, McDonald-Smith, Talbert).

The first two rounds of competition will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, followed by tee times Tuesday to kick off the final 18 holes.
