Penn State Heads to Hokie Invitational

Friday Singles/Doubles Pairing

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State women's tennis team is set to partake in the Hokie Invitational this weekend after almost three weeks since their last tournament. The Hokie Invitational is being played in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The tournament spans three days, starting Friday, October 3 and carrying through Sunday, October 5.

Eleven teams will be competing this weekend, including: Marshall, Radford, UMBC, Morehead State, George Washington, Liberty, Wofford, James Madison, VCU, and Virginia Tech.

In the Singles Flight A, Victoria Kisialeva takes on Catherine Martin of Wofford while Kim Surin battles Kai Broomfield of Marshall. Dasha Sapogova plays Taylor Pinchoff of JMU. In the Singles Flight B, Devan McCluskey matches up against Aya Terashi of Morehead State while Katia Blik takes on Gemma Valls of Radford. In the Doubles Flight A, Surin and McCluskey battle Karas/Martin of Wofford. Blik/Sapogova drew a bye and will wait the winners between Marshall and JMU. In Doubles Flight B, Minitti/Petruzillo compete against Owens/Bradshow of JMU while Shukow/Mengel play against Crist/Hassey of Liberty. The full pairings list can be found at the top of the page.
