UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Megan Schafer (Langhorne, Pennsylvania) was named the Big Ten Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week for her performance in wins at No. 24 Michigan and Michigan State. This is the second Freshman of the Week honor for Schafer.
Schafer scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over No. 24 Michigan, her fifth tally of the year and second game-winner. She played 172 minutes out of a possible 180 minutes in wins at No. 24 Michigan and Michigan State. In both matches, she took three shots each, leading Penn State in both contests.
The No. 11 Nittany Lions return to Jeffrey Field on Fri., Oct. 24 to host Nebraska at 7 p.m.
